Account Manager Business Development


Job description

Responsible for the development and management of key accounts. This includes full accountability for developing new sales leads, the delivery of services and profitability of the accounts, whilst also maintaining a high level of client and team satisfaction. 

  • Take responsibility for the retention and growth of client account(s) to reach annual revenue and margin targets
  • Research organisations and individuals to identify new leads and potential new markets
  • Make first contact with potential new clients and pitch Audience Communication and Events Pte Ltd services
  • Build strong relationships with key client contacts at a senior and strategic levels to learn about and anticipate their needs
  • Negotiate with clients on quotes proposed to secure the accounts
  • Network at industry events and associations as needed
  • Make recommendations for new ideas and technical innovations that improve the Audience Communication and Events Pte Ltd deliverables
  • Work closely with the Project Management team to oversee the direction and management of the team as they deliver event campaigns, ensure they deliver on brief budget, deadlines, and to the highest quality


Experience, attributes and competencies

  • Excellent client management experience, confident in building relationships and pitching new ideas to senior stakeholders
  • The ability to assist clients in understanding and defining objectives from an audience perspective
  • Ability to build new networks and identify new business opportunities, both within current client organizations and also potential new clients
  • 3+ years successful communications and event management experience, planning and running mid-large B2B corporate events – conferences, briefings, VIP dinners, exhibitions, large scale virtual meetings
  • 3+ years of business development experience, ideally with a focus on corporate communications and event planning
  • Excellent understanding of event marketing and audience engagement. Ideally using integrated communications involving digital and social media pre-event and on-site
  • Excellent presentation and articulation skills
  • A can do attitude, with strong collaboration and cross functional leadership skills
  • Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills, with confidence and experience to communicate with senior professionals
  • Flexible, versatile and copes well under pressure
  • Proven experience meeting deadlines and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrates the ability to innovate and challenge the status quo
